‘Parthaney’  – Jigsaw Whanganui Fundraiser

Parthaney was the perfect home for a ‘French Country Rustic Farmhouse with a feminine twist’.  This household is a family of three teenage boys and I wanted a dining setting that was inviting the family  to sit and enjoy.

The old style country dining table was perfect for the theme.  My client’s painted the legs and underside for the occasion using Resene Retreat.  This is one of the colours used on the landing upstairs.   I wanted a contemporary look for my setting and Retreat set the look I wanted perfectly.   So instead of traditional Christmas colours I chose turquoise, hot pink and yellow as my main colours.   For the ‘rustic’ look and feel I made hessian Christmas stockings on each chair and a table runner with was dressed in lichen tree branches and pine cones to form the basis of  the table decoration.  My Floral Artists were Marie Murdock and Debra Rigg, both talented artists.

I used French Champagne flutes and French style crockery and cutlery.  The yellow arrangement is modeled from a French designer.  The setting was contemporary, simple, full of colour and inviting!
